Eyedress has returned with two new singles, “Prada” featuring Triathlon and “Brain Dead” alongside the announcement of his brand new album Mulholland Drive.
Mulholland Drive, the fourth album by Idris Vicuña, also known as Eyedress, is set to be released on August 27. The project is a celebration of Vicuña’s success surrounding his 2020 album Let's Skip to the Wedding. The album broke into the charts after his songs “Jealous” and “Romantic” went viral on TikTok causing these songs to gain a large amount of traffic on streaming platforms.
The recently released singles coming off Mulholland Drive are “Prada” ft. Triathlon and “Brain Dead”. In “Prada” you get to experience a melodic slow song with a laid back beat that is soothing. Triathlon, who are featured on the track, add to the chillness. “Prada” smashes up both Eyedress and Triathlons’ styles creating a good mixture of both artists signature sounds. In “Brain Dead” you get to feel a different vibe that is more of a futuristic sci-fi feel that makes you want to get up and mosh. These two singles capture how successfully Eyedress manages to handle his artistic range when expanding his sound.
Alongside the releases Eyedress shares a music video for “Prada” with a nostalgic retro feel. We see Vicuña and the lead singer of Triathlon singing amongst nice cars roaming in LA. Vicuna’s partner Elvia and son appear as a reference to the lyrics and who they are for.
In Mulholland Drive you can expect Vicuña to take on off-kilter electronic pop. The album is set to have 15 tracks with a variety of collaborators while also staying true to himself. The collaborators include King Krule, synth-funk icon DāM-FunK, Vex Ruffin, Dent May and more. For now enjoy “Prada” featuring Triathlon and “Brain Dead” which give you a sneak peek of what's to come from the album.
