G Flip and mxmtoon’s Tribute to Every “Queen”

Since launching her debut album “About Us” in 2019, the Melbourne singer known as G Flip has received a string of gold, platinum-certified recognition. In 2020, she made the best out of the year by releasing a collection of amazing singles including “Hyperfine”. In 2021, we find her releasing a single called “Queen” featuring singer/songwriter mxmtoon, produced by Rostam Batmanglij. This track is an “ode to strong queens around the world and is not tied to sexuality or gender”.

The lyrics convey the strong women in G Flip’s life as a tribute to honor those who raised her and who she has met over the years. The song has a groovy twist and mix of guitar with a beautiful message. Flip says that “the queen is not necessarily linked to gender; queens come in all forms and walks of life. To me a queen embodies power and strength; they embrace all they are fiercely yet gracefully.” 

The track is wholesome and very catchy, perfect to sing at the top of your lungs. The song without fault blends both of G Flip’s and mxmtoon’s voices as they harmonize seamlessly. Maia, aka mxmtoon, brings her softness to create a dynamic mix of vocals. Maia expresses that she’s "So happy to be a part of “Queen” with G! She and Rostam were such a joy to work with and so much fun to collaborate with on creative as well.” The unexpected collaboration in “Queen” was irresistible and came together to produce an anthemic song.

G Flip’s heartwarming message is a reminder to show appreciation for all the queens in our lives. We will continue to embody our queen energy in our day to day lives with this song in mind.
