Find a New “State of Mind” With Moontower

LA indie-dance three-piece Moontower returns with their highly anticipated single “State of Mind.” The track comes as the first taste of the band’s upcoming debut album. Made up of Devan Welsh, Jacob Berger, and Tom Carpenter, Moontower focuses on cultivating a tight-knit community and making music with the intention of performing live.

When Moontower wrapped up their album, “State of Mind” was not set to be the lead single. It wasn’t until their 2021 tour with The Driver Era that proved audiences were hungry for the catchy and introspective track. As the lead singer, Berger says, “We wrote this song as a reminder to ourselves, and to whoever needs it, that we have the power and permission to be whoever we want as long as we’re kind to ourselves and each other along the way.”

We had the chance to be on set for the music video—which is just a glimpse into a new visual world Moontower is creating with their upcoming era of music. For this narrative, the band is the in-flight entertainment and remains unphased by their surroundings of the crashing plane as an audience of crash test dummies dances along.

As a part of a film series for their album, this video is just a snippet of the rest Moontower has in store. We’re eager to hear the rest of the album and explore the themes the band has assembled. Make sure to catch Moontower currently on tour with Weathers across North America.
