Omar Apollo gathers local Angeleno fans for an intimate show at the Moroccan Lounge. On July 20, Apollo notified fans through Twitter to sign up for his community number to be notified for a special announcement. 

Those who were quick enough scored one out of the 175 limited tickets sold for 5 dollars each. The exclusive show sold out in a matter of minutes leaving some fans empty handed and others feeling lucky. The concert was preparation for Apollo ahead of his set at Lollapalooza later that week. 

Entering the venue fans were greeted by a flower wall backdrop and merchandise with Apollo’s name alongside the title “La Madrugada” which is Spanish for “the dawn”. We think this is hinting at what Apollo’s next project will be called.

The concert was very intimate, surrounded by some of Apollo’s closest friends making it a special comeback. As one of our first shows of the year, we were ecstatic to be in a music venue again. As fans of Apollo, we were eager to witness his unmatchable stage presence and unique dance moves.

The energy of the room immediately changed as soon as Apollo stepped on the stage. Commencing the show, the band played an intro that led into the popular track “Kickback'' off his latest project Apolonio. The crowd roared from excitement and reciprocated Apollo’s energy. 

One of the songs Apollo was thrilled to sing was his first corrido, “Dos Uno Nueve (219)” which describes some of the obstacles he faced growing up in Indiana. This song is essential in Apollo’s discography because it represents a genre that is very popular in Mexican culture. 

The artist ended the night with an unreleased song titled “Moon” an upbeat track with Apollo’s signature flare. The crowd's reaction to the song was high-spirited and fans are incredibly eager to see more from Apollo’s new era.
