Phoebe Go’s Latest Confessional Single “7 Up”

Sam Plascencia

Melbourne-based Phoebe Go is a recent solo project of the alt-pop artist, Phoebe Lou. The singer-songwriter has built a heartfelt discography since her debut EP Player in 2022. Phoebe has unveiled her compelling voice and continues to do so in the new single release “7 Up.”

The playful, yet heavy-themed release is a candid confession about finally letting go. Behind the upbeat production, the lyrics allude to the brutal realization of taking space from a person. “To me this song has a kind of recklessness and a rush about it but maybe that’s the whole point. That’s how letting go feels sometimes,” Phoebe said.

Teasing for a debut record in the works, “7 Up” is quintessentially Phoebe Go. The release sets the scene for the achy grips of growing up and finding oneself, themes often found in Phoebe’s work. To honor the release, “7 Up” is paired with an official music video with the artist and her band.

As a recent solo artist on the rise, Phoebe Go has shared the stage with MUNA, Arlo Parks, and more. We’re full of anticipation for any of Phoebe’s upcoming projects this year after this single release. Finally, don’t miss Phoebe Go supporting Briston Maroney on his North American Tour!
