The LA-based, New England-bred indie rock band known as The Rare Occasions return with the single “Seasick,” serving as a glimpse into their forthcoming EP coming this fall. The trio of Brian McLaughlin, Luke Imbusch, and Jeremy Cohen create an emotionally infectious track that stays true to the band’s vibrant and noticeable sound.

The theme of “Seasick” reflects upon the winding passage of time along with the ongoing forces of chaos that becomes a part of our daily routines. The band creates the single with an unfiltered and truthful tone—noting how we’re all attempting to figure things out as they come. The face-paced, guitar-driven track paired with dynamic vocals upholds surf-rock hymns and coastal imagery of the band.

As a reminder to take a step back and notice the lengths we’ve traveled, “Seasick” offers an uplifting performance. McLaughlin sings, “Through twisting gales I keep the sails aligned / Recalibrate when something goes awry.” The track’s intentions ease reality and offer an anthem to reflect upon the successes met in a sea of challenges.
