“Songs About It” symbolizes the transformative rush of emotions that comes with a moment of joy no matter how fleeting it may seem. The track cuts to the chase with the repetitious line, “I write songs about it.” With a pop sound featuring a 90’s sound and outstanding piano backing, “Songs About It” showcases a fresh sound for the group, while still sticking to classic roots.

Lead singer Tim Nelson describes the release as a validating experience for his younger self, a way of helping his past self accept who he is. “There’s a lot from my life before I came out that has always been shrouded in shame, fear and secrecy. But it doesn’t have to be a secret anymore, and I feel like I can really shine a light on the magic of it and recognize and celebrate it for what it was and is,” says Nelson.

Following the release of Jesus At The Gay Bar, Cub Sport will be running a tour across the US. This will be their first time performing in the US since 2019 — beginning at LA’s The Echo in May and concluding in Phoenix’s Valley Bar in July. Cub Sport is finding success for its work with booming pop tracks.
