Wallows make a comeback with their new single “I Don’t Want To Talk.” Following their Remote (Deluxe) EP earlier this year, the trio gives us a taste of what’s to come with their newest track.

“I Don’t Want To Talk” stays true to the band’s dynamic indie-pop sound. Wallows mix it up by intertwining harmonicas with fast-paced drums. The lyricism touches on the insecurities of a relationship that seems to be slipping away. The defeated tone is highlighted by the repetition of “tell me that it's over, tell me that it’s over now.”

Dylan Minnette shares how the track, “centers around the fear of being away from someone for too long and that ultimately allows the other person’s head to be turned by someone else, and instead of expressing those fears, completely shutting down and not wanting to talk about it at all.”

The music video for “I Don’t Want To Talk” directed by Jason Lester is a colorful visual companion for the song. Shot on 16mm film, the video maintains an air of nostalgia and the eccentric Wallows spirit that we love.

“I Don’t Want To Talk” is the first single the band is releasing from their highly anticipated sophomore album. Wallows is eager to return to the stage and play their new music, announcing their 2022 Tell Me That It’s Over Tour along with the single release.
