Atlanta-born artist Faye Webster returns after two years with the single “But Not Kiss.” The love song combines feelings of longing with uncertainty and a catchy piano hook. Webster’s track succinctly sums up the intimacy of relationships in an ethereal way—often what the artist is known for throughout her discography.

“But Not Kiss” shifts from Webster’s delicate voice to melodramatic arrangements in each verse. The soft vocals coupled and stunning instrumentals relay the complicated ardor of love. “It’s something I’ve looked for but struggled to find in other love songs, for them to describe this conflict or contradiction,” Webster said.

Paired with the release, Webster dropped a music video for the track. Filmed at the famed Los Angeles Bob Baker Marionette Theatre, Webster is in the spotlight with her guitar in hand. The velvety red curtains and marionette characters essentially complete the video for “But Not Kiss.”

Working towards a new full-length record, “But Not Kiss” is a taste of what's next for Webster. The delicate delivery of the release is comforting yet refined, stirring excitement in her fans. Next, the announcement of a major North American headlining tour for Webster kicks off this October. Wrapping up in her hometown of Atlanta, the artist is bound to pull at heartstrings this upcoming fall.
