Dreamer Boy Reaches Out to BENEE on “ARE YOU LETTING GO?”

Dreamer boy AKA Zach Taylor follows his last single “KEEP THE PACE” with a new collaboration with New Zealander singer, BENEE in “ARE YOU LETTING GO?”.

LA got to listen to the track with BENEE as a surprise duet during the last show of Dreamer Boy’s All Our Dreams Came True Tour earlier this month. The performance left fans feeling anticipated and excited to hear the studio version.

The duet came about when Taylor slid into BENEE’s Instagram DMs asking her if she would love to work together. Taylor was inspired by her vocals and writing in her song “Happen to Me,” which is what led him to send her this particular demo of “ARE YOU LETTING GO?“.

“ARE YOU LETTING GO?” is about wanting to   “...SOS or smoke signal to another person,” Taylor says. The song was written in a time when Taylor felt lost not having clear communication with a person he loves and in this song he wanted to encapsulate “...that unfamiliar and bewildering place of love.” The decision for the duet ties in perfectly with Taylor's goal of having an intimate conversation between two people throughout the song.

As fans of both artists, this is a collaboration we didn't know we needed. This heavy-synth, upbeat collaboration manages to capture both voices to create an ethereal heartbreak track. The last two singles Dreamer Boy have highlighted his artistic range and potential to continue to explore different musical genres. We expect to hear a more experiential side of Taylor’s upcoming projects.
