Laufey’s Soft Melodies Fill the Moroccan Lounge

Sam Plascencia

Icelandic-Chinese singer-songwriter, musician, cellist, and pianist Laufey headlined her first two nights in Los Angeles this December. This past Fall, Laufey has supported both Ricky Montogomery and Alexander 23. We had the chance to attend the artists’ dreamy set at the Moroccan Lounge, with special guests Adam Melchor and twin sister Junia.

The night was undoubtedly special for this twenty-two-year-old musician. As she expressed moving out to LA recently, performing two headline shows were heavenly in the city she now calls home.

The room swayed to Laufey’s admirable and sentimental songs such as “I Wish You Love” and “Street by Street.” More mixes of sophisticated jazz melodies can be found on her recent debut EP Typical of Me
