Jump Into the Visual World of Sara King With “Taxi”
Sam Plascencia
Singer-songwriter Sara King returns with “Taxi,” a hyper-pop-focused single following her latest “My Flowers Grow” earlier this year. The Dallas-raised and LA-based creative materializes her projects with sensual nostalgia, packaged with precision in visuals and design.
“Taxi” is a new avenue for King—diving into an eclectic sound from start to finish. The track creates a fresh space for listeners to move to the catchy synth. The earworm vocals provided by King add a layer of surrealism, supported by the twist in conventional pop sounds.
The release is experimental yet sonically addictive after one listen. The distorted bass and reprise of the lyric “I just want to run away” draws attention to jumping into a taxi to escape. Much like the theme of the track, a sensation of running free is prominent through the after-dark thoughts that King expresses.
As a rising self-made artist, Sara King makes a notable revival towards mixing sounds and crafting pleasing visuals for her work. Since the release of her debut EP Erotica, we’re wishful for King’s upcoming projects for the year!
